40 Bury Old Rd, Manchester, M8 5EL
The Cheetham Hill Shopping Centre is a practical local shopping destination located at 40 Bury Old Road, Manchester M8 5EL. Set in one of North Manchester’s busiest and most diverse neighbourhoods, the centre plays an important role for residents, commuters, families, and visitors who want convenient access to groceries, food, coffee, services, and everyday retail in one place.
One of the biggest strengths of The Cheetham Hill Shopping Centre is its location. Cheetham Hill sits only a short distance north of Manchester city centre, making the shopping centre easy to reach by car, bus, or on foot from nearby residential streets. For local shoppers, it offers a useful alternative to larger city-centre retail areas. Instead of dealing with heavy crowds or long travel times, visitors can stop by for quick essentials, weekly shopping, or a casual coffee break.
The centre is anchored by a Tesco Superstore, which gives it a strong everyday-shopping focus. Tesco brings a wide range of groceries, household goods, fresh food, and daily essentials, making the centre especially useful for routine visits. Around the wider shopping area, visitors can also find a mix of well-known names and local businesses, reflecting the multicultural character of Cheetham Hill. This variety gives the centre a practical, community-based feel rather than a polished tourist-mall atmosphere.
Food and drink are also part of the experience. Costa Coffee is located within the centre, offering hot drinks, iced coolers, snacks, sandwiches, Wi-Fi, disabled access, disabled toilets, baby changing facilities, and a dog-friendly setup. This makes it a comfortable stop for shoppers who want to rest, meet someone, or grab a drink before continuing errands. Nearby food and retail options add even more convenience for people moving through the area.
Accessibility is another important advantage. The Tesco car park offers free parking for up to three hours, and accessible routes from the car park help make visits easier for wheelchair users and shoppers with mobility needs. For a busy neighbourhood centre, these features matter because they support quick, low-stress shopping.
The overall vibe of The Cheetham Hill Shopping Centre is local, busy, practical, and community-focused. It is not designed as a luxury shopping mall. Instead, it works best as a dependable everyday retail hub where people can shop, eat, park, and handle regular errands efficiently.
In conclusion, The Cheetham Hill Shopping Centre is a valuable shopping spot for North Manchester. With Tesco as a key anchor, useful retail units, food and drink options, accessible facilities, and a strong local feel, it remains a convenient choice for everyday shopping in Cheetham Hill.

Overall, I found this to be a decent spot. There's an impressive variety of dining choices available here, which is a definite plus. However, I noticed the retail offerings for apparel and accessories were quite sparse. Based on my experience, I'd suggest planning your visit for the evening hours. Its location also boasts excellent transport links, making it easily accessible from various areas across Manchester.

Nestled right in the vibrant core of Cheetham Hill village, this shopping centre offers a truly modern retail experience for everyone. The impressive tenant roster includes familiar names such as Peacocks, Costa, Card Factory, Ladbrokes, Cash Generator, Pound Empire, Lesters, United National Bank, and another Cash Generator, plus many more establishments. Convenience is key here, with a generous 530-space car park readily available, and the centre is also exceptionally well-connected by numerous local bus routes that seamlessly link the surrounding area directly to Manchester City Centre.

My strong recommendation is to avoid the car park entirely when the weather turns wet, as it becomes completely waterlogged. I found there was no practical way to reach my vehicle without having to wade through a good three inches of standing water, especially along the section directly in front of Tesco's.
